Italian Estates: Castello Aristocratica Bent Pot (2017) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-30532
During the period from 1968 to 1979, Castello founder Carlo Scotti had produced a number of special pipes, called the "Aristocratica," that he gave only to close friends. Each of these briars were characterized by their factory darkened rim, and were individually recorded in a special book, signed by both Carlo and the recipient. While this bent Pot is not one of those specific pieces, it still features the same darkened rim and expert craftsmanship as the originals, paying homage to the workshop's founder and his generosity. The result is a thoroughly Italian-style briar — replete with a fumed rim, bowl-centric proportions, and the firm, jutting heel that has come to define Castello's beloved "55" bent Pot. Rugged, dimpled plateau adorns the broad rim, seamlessly blending with the partial rustication that wraps around the upper bowl and imbuing the iconic shape with organicism.
