Part of the "Castello" collection from Castello pipes, denoting pipes of superlative quality, this paneled Billiard is a traditional rendering of a shape-chart standard, realized with clean lines and fine craftsmanship. The tapered stem slowly flares into the shank which, too, flares into the bowl, flowing around the sides and transitioning at an almost exact right angle. The transition is noteworthy for its cleanliness, as well as its excellency in merging with the panels of the bowl. The finish of the stummel is a smooth light stain that highlights whorls of birdseye on the top and bottom of the shank, as well as the left flank of the bowl. The arrays of flame grain on the bowl are tight and dark and draw the eye towards them, making for a profile that is quite beautiful.
