Italian Estates: Mario Grandi Partially Rusticated Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-32927

A sub-brand of Mastro Beraldi pipes, Mario Grandi offers playful takes on shape chart standards, as evidenced by this bent Dublin. The piece possesses the form's characteristic broad, flared rim set above the bowl's gradual taper to the firm, rounded heel. The rim wears a rustication that mimics the appearance of plateau, while the rest of the stummel is finished smooth and dressed in a dark chestnut stain. The diamond shank kicks out of the tight-knit, low-slung transition before giving way to a half-saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. The firm lines of the shank and stem provide a touch of firm muscularity to the shape in profile, offsetting some of the bowl's more rounded aspects.
