Italian Estates: Kristiansen Partially Rusticated Bent Dublin (Emma) (Y) Tobacco Pipe

This bent Dublin from Kristiansen pairs a tall, statuesque bowl to a languid stretch of oval shank and stem. The oval shank is quite broad when viewed from above, but it tapers gradually across its length into the mouthpiece, reducing as it curls upwards and away from the low-set transition. The diminishing lines of the shank-and-stem arrangement and the sheer height of the bowl keep most of the visual weight upfront in typical Italian neoclassical style. The stummel wears a fetching dual finish, with the rim and a band at the shank end left smooth and stained a honey-blond color, while the rest of the stummel wears a dark rustication that provides plenty of stimulating texture for the fingers.
