Italian Estates: Castello Sea Rock Briar Pot (KK) (17) (1970s-1982)
Product Number: 004-006-33300
Though less jaunty of heel compared to Castello's "55" bent Pot, this vintage straight Pot offers the same squat shaping and muscular proportions associated with that design. This piece pairs a thick, stout bowl to a comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement, keeping most of the visual weight of the composition anchored up front. The stummel wears a shadowy rendition of the Sea Rock rustication, which offers plenty of stimulating texture for the fingers to explore, save for the rim, which is left smooth and stained a lighter color for contrast.--Davin Hylton
