Low-set and broad, this Apple from Moretti presents a squat, rotund bowl that nicely fills the hand with its soft contours. The shank and stem gradually taper together as they strike a languid S-curve out back, slenderizing the aft-side of the composition and keeping most of the visual weight anchored at the bowl. It's dressed in a crisp, dark rustication, save for the rim and a trim band around the shank end, which are left smooth for a touch of tactile contrast. Presented unsmoked.
