Italian Estates: Castello Trademark Bent Dublin (GG) (49) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-34495
Castello's "G" stamps denote pipes of a larger build than are normally seen from the Italian workshop, with multiple "G's" given to those pipes that are even larger than that standard. This bent Dublin has received two of the stamps and indeed displays a hearty disposition, though it's not quite as long as I would usually expect from such a piece, instead showcasing an appreciable height of over two and a half inches. Overall, there's a palpable muscularity throughout the entirety of the pipe, especially at the transition, the origin point of a steady transition to the shank that terminates in a domed portion of briar to which the tapered stem is fitted. This shank is handsomely upturned, and the stem smartly bent for a comfortable smoking posture. At the front, the bowl takes on a gradual flare from the transition that ends at the broad rim, all of the briar here dressed in a vibrant ruby stain that reveals handsome grain all around.
