Italian Estates: Castello Old Antiquari Paneled Bent Billiard (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe

Though straight variations of the paneled Billiard aren't particularly uncommon within Castello's portfolio, bent renditions are considerably rarer. This piece, with the bowl neatly faceted, also adds a paneled shank, diamond of cross-section and calling to mind the structured nature of the bent Bulldog. It makes for a stoic, almost architectural shape, and it's one not without a strong degree of muscularity, fitting in with the workshop's Italian shaping style. The bowl fills the hand substantially, allowing for further appreciation of the concise texture of the Old Antiquari sandblast, while the bent posture affords comfortable hands-free smoking.
