A charming neoclassical bent Dublin, this "D501" from Thomas Cristiano pairs a tall, upright bowl of considerable stoutness to an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl, as is common with Italian briars, holds most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the comparatively slender build of the shank and stem. A striking, craggy rustication dresses the stummel and provides plenty of stimulating texture for the fingers to explore, save for the chamfered rim and nomenclature panel, which are both left smooth for a bit of textural diversity. Presented unsmoked.
