Displaying graceful shaping and smooth sinuosity, this forward-urging, sweeping Calabash from Ser Jacopo boasts a single "Maxima" stamp, a testament to its large but manageable size. Devoid of the form's usual cap, this piece from the playful Pesaro workshop instead offers a quite tall, flaring bowl similar to the Dublin, along with a gestural bend and high-kicking shank and stem. Presenting plenty of room at the transition to leisurely drape a digit, this piece is able to pass a pipe cleaner thanks to deft engineering. It's dressed in a warm auburn stain that accentuates its swathes of birdseye along the rim and stunning flame grain on all flanks. Presented unsmoked.
