Italian Estates: Castello Collection Bent Bulldog (KKKK) (2007) Tobacco Pipe

A palm-filling rendition of the traditional Bulldog, this piece from Castello pairs more reserved shaping with exaggerated proportions, for a classically Castello piece. The thick-walled bowl houses a hefty chamber for long cool smokes and displays a slighter taper than other Castello Bulldogs. The lower bowl is softly rounded, drawing down to a muscular heel that continues on to form a ridgeline through the straight diamond shank. The black acrylic stem is accented with a broad band of briar, giving the shank an elongated look without the extra weight. Dressed in Castello's Collection finish, the briar displays delightful flame grain mixed with touches of birdseye in this looks-as-good-as-it-smokes.
