Italian Estates: Ser Jacopo Smooth Bulldog (L1) (B) (Maxima) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

As a part of Ser Jacopo's Maxima series, this straight Bulldog is quite a bit larger than their standard iterations of the shape. This is most noticeable in the length of the pipe, as it stretches out to nearly eight inches long, taking full advantage of the diamond shape of the shank and stem. Said combination takes on a consistent taper from the wide transition to the button, slenderizing all of that length and placing a bit more visual weight on the bowl, though most of it lands at the transition. There's a striking angularity here, as the ridges that encircle the shank and stem push forward into the flanks of the bowl and lend the heel a sharp, aerodynamic appearance. Said bowl flares out to a mid-set waistline that's rounded by a pair of beadlines that additionally mark the taper to the rim, providing a lovely indexing point for the hand. Dressed in a dark, auburn stain, this piece showcases handsome grain throughout, and its black stem is fitted with a large band of lighter colored wood that adds a dash of contrast. Unsmoked.
