Italian Estates: Amorelli Smooth Volcano (****) Tobacco Pipe

A full-bodied Volcano rendition from Amorelli, this piece comes to us from Cesare Barontini and stretches out to nearly seven inches in length. All of this lengthiness through the shank and stem has resulted in a high-kicking combination that's poised for comfortable smoking and offers the composition an elegant bit of slightly acrobatic curvature thanks to the stem's smart downturn at the bit. Though rather tightly knit, the transition still provides plenty of room to drape a thumb and pairs the shank to the bowl quite close to the base. Said base is rounded by a firm ridgeline and is possessed of a supple rounding that stands out from the nearly two and a half inch tall walls' forward-leaning taper to the rim. These robust walls provide ample room to display the lovely grain revealed by the stummel's warm auburn stain, with flame grain wrapping around their surfaces and birdseye peppering the base.
