A unique rendition of the classic Cherrywood shape, this piece from Italian workshop Moretti features a trim shank paired to a demurely downturned saddle stem. This combination of shank and stem meets a slightly mid-set transition that's rather tightly knit, with the bowl itself showcasing a pinched look toward the middle. This pinch naturally lends the shank its upward angle, and the curves surrounding the shank continue the contours of the bowl through implied lines in a lovely display of shaping. A flattened base allows for easy sitting, allowing this tall piece to be displayed proudly and adding some extra practicality to the composition.
