Italian Estates: Rinaldo Collection Smooth Bent Dublin (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-35364
Part of esteemed Italian workshop Rinaldo's Collection line, this bent Dublin presents with an unashamedly neoclassical profile that places nearly all of its visual weight on the bowl. Said bowl sits atop a sweeping heel and flares dramatically upward and outward to a broad, expansive rim that's completely awash with plateau, the small peaks seemingly innumerable and each one having been sanded down to reveal pinpricks of birdseye. The walls of this bowl are impressively thick, and the chamber they surround is capacious, ensuring comfortable, leisurely smoking sessions. The shank flicks upward out of a tightly-knit transition while taking on a slight taper to the end, meeting a black acrylic saddle stem with white banding around its flared base. This looks impressively cohesive, and the stylized look of the stem itself, with a pinch after the base's flare and a pair of expansion rings just before the bit, adds a bit of balance to the visual weight here. Dressing the stummel here is a vibrant auburn stain that unveils tightly packed striations of flame grain which lead the eye to the rim, while a basin of birdseye rests at the heel.-John McElheny
