This striking Oom Paul boasts Castello's "Occhio di Pernice" stamping, which is reserved for briars that display exemplary birdseye. The birdseye here is certainly quite striking, wrapping the flanks of the bowl and spotting the transition and sides of the shank, all underneath a warm auburn stain. Shape-wise, this Oom Paul is full-bodied and muscular, offering a tall, tapering bowl that stands at the fore of a high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement. With a healthy chamber capacity and a steeply curved saddle stem, this piece offers plenty of jaw-hanging potential, as well as an abundance of style.
