The masterful Claudio Cavicchi demonstrates his impeccable craftsmanship and shaping skills with this Cherrywood. Typical for the form, the bowl here rises proudly from a flat, sure-sitting heel, and as it does, it takes on a dramatic forward cant that lends the overall composition a rather active appearance in profile. A thoroughly Italian briar, this piece anchors most of the form's visual weight with the bowl, with the shank and stem offering support but remaining more subdued within the totality of the design. Cavicchi's gorgeous honey-blonde smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights dense constellations of birdeye on either flank of the bowl. It's a truly handsome bit of Italian craftsmanship, so it's no wonder it received four "C" stamps from Cavicchi.
