Mastro de Paja presents us with this dynamic Acorn rendition, the Italian workshop emphasizing the striking angularity of the form by rendering it in a checkmark-like style. A rather wide transition marks the start of a high-reaching shank and stem, the pair tapering to the button and leading the eye forward toward a sharp, pronounced heel spur. An egg-like bowl stands atop this heel, rich with curves and offering a comfortable feel in hand, all while providing plenty of room to showcase the pipe's deep, chestnut stain. A trim silver band at the junction offers some elegant contrast in this unsmoked piece.
