A thoroughly Italian design from Posella, this Dublin features a tall, thick-walled bowl that houses a capacious chamber within its muscular frame. Said bowl boasts a steady upward flare, resulting in a broad, softly inflated rim encircled by a crisp ridgeline. In typical neoclassical fashion, the bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its hearty build and dramatic flare overshadowing the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. The shank has been treated to a dark, craggy rustication, while the bowl has been smoothly polished and dressed in a smoky, grain-defining stain.
