Italian Estates: Caminetto New Dear Pot (Moustache) (7.16) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

While many of their handmade pipes are of a more interpretive shape, this straight Pot from Caminetto represents a faithful rendition of the classic shape. The sides of a squat, broad-rimmed bowl descend rather vertically toward a very firm heel, and transition crisply to a sleek shank and tapered stem combination. All pipes from the Italian workshop are made by father and son team Roberto and Tommaso Ascorti, and this piece does well to represent their neoclassical work. This pipe wears the unique rustication of the workshop's New Dear finish in colors of deep burgundy, the rim's smooth finish adding some rich contrast with the rest of the bowl, with the smooth shank adding to this.
