The Stack/Chimney shape is a design whose inherent proportions most naturally fit within Italian neoclassic proportions — the bowl already dominating the visual weight thanks to its added height. Here, Castello fits one such bowl on the end of a slender, tapering shank that's been paired to a sleek saddle stem, the height of the bowl actually greater than the length from transition to shank end. It's no surprise, then, that this piece offers a cavernous depth of chamber, and what's especially striking about this piece is the firm uprightness of the bowl, contributing to a protruding heel and right angle-like profile.
