Italian Estates: Castello Trademark Bent Billiard (KK) (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Though Castello no longer stamps their pipes with a shape number, this style of bent Billiard represents the "65" design. It showcases a firm-heeled, cylindrical style of bowl, but what I found so distinct is the shank and stem combination. An elegant taper informs the shank's lithe, upward curl from the transition, leading into the saddle stem — the flowing curves immediately identifiable as the work of the esteemed Italian workshop. This particular piece wears a dark, chestnut rendition of their revered Trademark finish, showcasing a handsome cross grain structure beneath it, with birdseye awash around the bowl.
