Though rather lean and lightweight, this bent Dublin from Castello still maintains the neoclassical profile commonly associated with Italian briars, presenting a tall, profile-dominating bowl that overshadows the comparatively demure shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. Compressed along its horizontal axis, the bowl boasts an oval appearance when viewed from above, its rim reaching out dramatically toward the fore and aft sides of the composition. The shank and stem are joined via a military mount that allows the composition to be broken down at any time, even while the pipe is still hot. It's handsomely dressed in a dark rendition of the Sea Rock rustication, which provides a wealth of tactile intrigue to the stummel.
