Italian Estates: Ascorti Business Dublin (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-37767

Giuseppe Ascorti founded Caminetto in 1959 after years of work at Castello, and his son, Roberto, would have joined him in 1980 if there were room at the workshop for him to carve. Given the lack of space at his father's workshop, Giuseppe decided to establish his own manufacturer, Ascorti, in the same year. Roberto founded the brand after attending the Art Institute, bringing those artistic sensibilities with him and lending Ascorti's pipes an added bit of flair which is sure to appeal to fans of quality Italian pipes. This Dublin is a lovely, neoclassical example of the traditional shape, complete with a full-bodied bowl that stands here atop a firm heel. Said bowl boasts thick walls that take on a slightly forward-canting flare forward, and its robust form is balanced by a sleek shank and stem combination. The a pair ebb out from a wide transition, with the saddle stem offering a further bit of slenderization to the aft side. Dressing the stummel here is a craggy rustication that provides plenty of texture in hand, its warm stain contrasted by a fumed rim.
