A playful take on a shape pioneered by the legendary Bo Nordh, this Elephant's Foot from Moretti captures all of the form's tell-tale characteristics, including the bowl's paneled flanks, wrapping ridgelines, and elevated fore wall. Though quite visually alluring, this piece also boasts a attention-grabbing in-hand presence, with the form's muscular proportions and stocky build filling out the palm quite nicely. The tall bowl is here paired to a flaring shank that gives way to a steeply curved saddle stem, which promotes a comfortable smoking posture and adds a touch of gesture to the shape in profile. Dressed in a warm, traditional smooth finish, the stummel displays some striking birdseye and cross grain around the bowl.
