Unlike typical renditions of the shape, which tend to be squat and low-slung, this Bulldog from Urano boasts a tall, upright bowl that stands proudly at the fore of a diamond shank and a sleek, tapered stem. As is usual for the form, a pair of beadlines wrap around the bowl's waist and demarcate the tapered rim from the flaring heel. Out back, the aforementioned shank and stem taper together, slenderizing the aft side of the composition and lending the bowl most of the visual weight in profile. The crisp Urano rustication dresses the stummel and lends a wealth of tactile intrigue for the fingers to admire, save for the rim, beadlines, and a trim band at the shank end, which are all left smooth for contrast.
