Italian Estates: Mario Grandi Smooth Blowfish (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

This is a striking Blowfish from Aldo Pierluigi of Mario Grandi pipes. The shank here is nearly vertical as it arcs out of the transition, possessed of a palpable thickness that's accentuated by its pairing to a slightly flaring offset saddle stem of swirling black and white hues. The entire combination features a shape that's much like a Reuleaux triangle, though with a touch more rounding at the sides, and the underside's outline plunges into the bottom of the bowl, its ridges at the flanks firming up and wrapping around the fore, top, and aft to meet the top side of the shank. The bowl itself features two asymmetric panels separated by the lines of these aforementioned ridges, lending this pipe a wealth of visual intrigue that its warm stain and handsome grain accentuate.
