Italian Estates: ***Savinelli Dry System Rusticated (1611) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-38404

Though similar to the "621" in build and appearance, this "1611" bent Dublin from Savinelli offers a more protracted and sinuous shank-and-stem arrangement, though the bowl, with its steady flare from narrow heel to broad rim, remains mostly unchanged. The bowl and shank are fairly well-balanced, lacking the exaggerated disparity that marks some of the marque's other pipes, and offer a muscular in-hand presence.

Designed to promote a dry, cool smoking experience, pipes within Savinelli's Dry System series feature wells inside the shank that extend past the draft hole to catch unwanted condensation. The stems also feature rounded buttons that spread the smoke across the palate for more consistent and balanced flavor. While other makers offer pipes of similar construction, few are engineered to allow filters; however, the Dry System still accommodates Savinelli's 6mm balsa filters. Fitted with a flashy mount, this particular example wears a dark sandblast for a rugged presentation.
