Something of a signature shape for Tonino Jacono, the "Flamingo" design is characterized by a unique, crooked shank, reminiscent of its namesake's inverted leg joint. Despite the striking, non-standard profile, the bowl is fairly traditional — a tall Billiard, bordering on Brandy sits atop a stretched heel, tapering slightly toward the rim. This piece is wearing an unstained, craggy finish that will accrue the warm tones of patina as it's smoked over time, with the smooth rim and trim band at the shank end lending contrast.
