Castello's "G" stamp denotes pipes that are especially robust, and this G-stamped bent Egg is no different. Shape-wise, this piece features a tall, deep-chambered bowl that's posed at the fore of a willowy shank-and-stem arrangement. In typical Italian neoclassic style, the bowl here holds most of the visual weight within in the composition, its towering height and muscular frame overshadowing the tapering shank and stem. A dark sandblast dresses the stummel and draws out tight bands of growth rings across the bowl's flanks.
