Italian Estates: Don Carlos Smooth Bent Billiard (One Note) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-38359

Along with Giancarlo Guidi, Bruto Sordini left Mastro de Paja in 1981 to form Ser Jacopo with Guidi the following year. Sordini eventually left the workshop, though, to fashion his own pipes under the Don Carlos name, debuting the line in 1992. Rather than following the whimsical shaping of other Pesaro pipe makers, Bruto here presents a fluid, traditionally inclined bent Billiard that yet retains a bit of added substance at the bowl. The shank and stem here are quite sinuous, the former lifting sharply out of a tight transition to meet a smartly curved stem of jet-black acrylic that lends the entire composition a comfortable smoking posture. The bowl is robust and hearty, complete with plenty of rounding at its walls to lend comfort in the hand, this thickness lending it plenty of space to showcase handsome grain beneath its warm mahogany stain.
