Italian Estates: Radice Smooth Magnum Pot (2010) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Pipes belonging to Radice's Magnum designation share one thing in common: they are the largest pipes that the Italian workshop has to offer. This particular member of that select denotation is a full-bodied Pot that is unique not just for its incredible size, but for its specific combination of features. Coming in at under seven inches long, this is a rather trim piece for the Magnum line, though each element of its construction is thickly built and extremely robust, with a hearty shank-and-stem combination that tapers out of a wide transition. Up front, the bowl sits atop a rounded heel and rises to more than two and a half inches tall, holding within its thick walls a chamber that's very capacious, sure to offer long smoking sessions. The rim is crowned with plateau, lending the pipe a bit of organicism that's quite nice, and the stummel is finished in the warm, deep contrast stain of the Clear finish, a pairing we've only seen on a Magnum Pot once before.
