Tonino Jacono crafts relatively few Cherrywood designs, but when he does, he fashions them with a distinctive fluidity, as evidenced by this particular rendition. The bowl here tapers from its wide, sure-sitting heel to its taut rim, and as it does, it takes on a subtle forward cant that's accentuated by a sinuously bent shank-and-stem arrangement. This shank and stem lend a languid curvature to the shape's profile while ensuring a comfortable smoking posture. A sturdy composition, this piece is dressed in an auburn smooth finish that highlights striking flame grain throughout the stummel.
