Italian Estates: Ser Jacopo Smooth Apple with Silver (L) (A) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-39151
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. A conservatively shaped piece with more modest proportions than many of its brethren from Ser Jacopo, this straight Apple is classically inclined, with perhaps a bit more briar in the plump, solid bowl than seen in old English renditions. In this piece, the cheeky Apple bowl is paired to a shank and stem that gradually taper toward the bit, an inherently Italian shaping cue which enhances the handsome profile. Adorned with a shiny band of silver, lending further refinement to this elegant composition, it's dressed in an alluring smoky contrast stain, showing off the briar's natural grain patterns.
