A stout, muscular Pot from Castello, this piece boasts a sturdy in-hand presence, the bowl quite bulky and composed of thick, insulating walls. In relation to the bowl, the shank-and-stem arrangement is far leaner, tapering swiftly from the transition to the bit, slenderizing the aft side of the composition and focusing most of the visual weight at the fore of the composition. A ruby-tinged rendition of the craggy Sea Rock rustication dresses the stummel and provides a rugged texture for the fingers to explore.
