Italian Estates: Ser Jacopo Picta Van Gogh Smooth with Silver (14) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Ser Jacopo's Picta line consists of pipes resembling those seen in famous paintings, many of which are created by the Dutch masters. This Hawkbill is similar to the one seen in Vincent van Gogh's painting entitled Still-life with modeled Pitcher, Coffee Grinder and Pipe. The bowl is Acorn-like in its shaping, with a pointed heel spur beneath the softly rounded, tapering bowl. The rim is demarcated from the remainder of the bowl by a wrapping ridgeline, adding a bit of structure. Out back, the arching shank and sharply downward turn of the stem strike a handsome profile. Wearing a warm mahogany stain that's accentuated by a bright, scalloped silver accent band, this elegant pipe is a remarkable design.
