Italian Estates: Castello Collection Pot (KK) (2022) Tobacco Pipe

From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 with the goal of offering handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. This Pot by Castello possesses a stocky build at Nosewarmer proportions. Despite its stature, the pipe still fills in the hand easily, with thick, rotund walls rising up from a pronounced heel. Transitioning from the bowl is a stout shank-and-stem arrangement, which lends more muscularity to the pipe's physique. The stummel wears Castello's warm amber-hued finish, showing a wealth of vertical grain around the bowl.
