Italian Estates: Clairmont Smooth Bent Pot (1984) (by Tom Spanu) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-40531
Tommaso Spanu was an Italian pipe maker who passed away in 2015, leaving behind an impressive legacy of creative, inspired pipes. Before beginning his career as an independent carver, Spanu produced pipes for the Clairmont brand, pipes such as this bent Pot from 1984. A thoroughly curved piece, the shank and stem of this pipe lift out of a tight transition, the rather trim shank paired to an offset saddle stem of black acrylic which is bent well for comfortable smoking. Up front, the bowl stands atop a rounded, bulbous heel and tapers slightly from its low-set waist toward the rim, offering plenty of room to showcase the stummel's warm, light stain.
