Maurizio Tombari worked for several Pesaro workshops, such as Mastro Geppetto and Ser Jacopo, before founding Le Nuvole. Translating to "the clouds," Le Nuvole is Tombari's personal venture, which allows him to create everything from traditional pipes to unique Freehands, and often collaborates with his wife when designing his striking, one-of-a-kind pieces. One of Le Nuvole's more conservative offerings, this Prince possesses the shape's quintessentially graceful profile, as the proportional shank and lithe stem present a linear taper from transition to bit. Furthermore, the bulb-like bowl provides a plump in-hand feel while maintaining a light weight, while its forward cant imbues this piece with a palpable momentum. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in an auburn sandblast, highlighting wiry, undulating growth rings in striking detail.
