After apprenticing at many Italian pipe making workshops, Bruto Sordini went into business with two partners and founded Ser Jacopo. After a few years, Sordini went solo, crafting handmade pipes under the brand name Don Carlos. This Rhodesian by Don Carlos possesses a robust, eye-catching bowl with a broad rim that is framed by a crisp ridgeline. Out back, the shank sweeps upward from the transition and gently tapers to a trim silver accent, an elegant flourish. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a chestnut smooth finish, highlighting straight grain on the flared walls and tightly packed birdseye on the rim. Moreover, the tenon is engineered to accommodate a 9mm filter.
