Ser Jacopo's Gem series is reserved for some of the finest briars the Pesaro workshop has to offer. Not only are these pipes immaculately shaped, but they also possess incredible grain. The line is distinguished by its grading system, which uses gemstones to denote the quality of each pipe, ascending in the following order: Smeraldo ("Emerald"), Granato ("Garnet"), Zaffiro ("Sapphire"), Rubino ("Ruby"), and Brillante ("Diamond"). This bent Egg boasts the line's Smeraldo grade, as evidenced by the color of the gemstone in the stem. Shape-wise, this piece boasts an Italian neoclassical outline, with the subtly flared bowl drawing most of the focus within the composition, its considerable girth overshadowing the comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement. A warm, ruddy smooth finish highlights impressive grain throughout the stummel, while a band of 18k gold accents the junction and ties the entire form together with a touch of flash.
