Italian Estates: Ardor Urano Bent Dublin (Dorelio Rovera) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-41158

The Ardor marque was established in 1974, its name being a portmanteau of its founders, Angelo Rovera and his son Dorelio Rovera. The family tradition of pipe making extends further to 1911, when Angelo's father Francesco founded the Sociedade Rovera pipe company alongside his brothers. Even today, Ardor is carried on by Dorelio's sons Dimitri and Damiano. This bent Dublin by Ardor exemplifies Italian neoclassical sensibilities, with a hefty bowl bearing most of the visual weight. The bowl's walls begin flaring gradually from a subtly pronounced heel, then they flare more dramatically towards a slightly dome-shaped rim, giving the pipe a Calabash resemblance. A sturdy shank seamlessly transitions from the bowl and flows towards an elongated stem, which has a curved posture for comfortable jaw hanging. Dressing the stummel is a dark iteration of Ardor's Urano rustication, granting a rugged texture to this pipe's sinuous curves.
