Freckled with birdseye up top, covered in tight, fine flame grain along the flanks, and displaying even more birdseye around the heel, this Acorn from Claudio Cavicchi as expected is quite a knockout, grain-wise. As for shaping, it's one of Claudio's fuller and broader forms, with the soft contours of an Acorn but boasts additional breadth along the flanks. Accentuated with a handsome ring of boxwood at the shank-end, this piece is a wonderful testament to the carver's imagination and talent.
