Italian Estates: Castello Old Antiquari Egg with Silver Stand (KKKK) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-41336

From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 with the goal of offering handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. This Egg from Castello displays an Acorn-esque demeanor, with its tall, rounded bowl possessing a gradual flare from the heel as the walls reach toward the rim. The bowl is posed at the fore of an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement, with its silver military mount accepting a lithe, tapered stem of jet-black acrylic. In addition to its handsome shaping, this Egg also boasts a novel, utilitarian design, as the silver mount is equipped with two retractable feet that form a stand, allowing the pipe to sit stably on level surfaces. Castello's Old Antiquari finish dresses the stummel in a crisp, warm sandblast that draws out rippling growth rings around the bowl.
