Italian Estates: Ser Jacopo Picta Van Gogh Spongia Rusticated Hawkbill with Silver (R2) (9) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-41424
Ser Jacopo's Picta line comprises individual collections of pipes inspired by famous artists and their works, including those from Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, and René Magritte. This, however, is the Picta Van Gogh series, one that comprises an assortment of pieces inspired by the paintings of Vincent van Gogh, arguably one of the most woefully misunderstood masters ever to live. This particular pipe is informed by his painting Self Portrait with Pipe and Straw Hat , which depicts a languidly bent Hawkbill-esque pipe. Ser Jacopo has rendered this representation accurately, complete with a gentle curve from button to heel, imbuing this pipe with an alluring outline that fluidly dips to its lowest point with ease. The bowl is asymmetrical and the chamber and rim have been aligned closer to the shank than the waistline, conforming to the painting, though strikingly unique. The stummel is dressed in a natural rustication and is contrasted by a stylized silver band around the shank and the jet-black stem.
