Italian Estates: Castello Sea Rock Briar Zulu (KKK) (37) (1970s-1982) (Replacement Tenon) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-41539

From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 with the goal of offering handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. This vintage "37" Zulu by Castello is a refined rendition of the shape, its forward-canted bowl and gracefully bent shank-and-stem arrangement making for a poised silhouette. The bowl is formed by sturdy walls gradually flaring from a slightly pronounced heel as they reach toward the rim. An oval shank tapers from the bowl's transition and meets a demurely downturned stem of jet-black acrylic. Castello's Sea Rock finish dresses the stummel, granting this piece a dark, rugged complexion.
