For decades, Savinelli has released their Collection series, comprising a singular shape across various finishes, with the shape itself designed specifically for the limited edition line. 2014's iteration of the series is represented by this sleek, fluid Rhodesian, a gestural rendition of the classic shape with more than enough sinuousness to go around and plenty of potential for jaw-hanging. The bowl is rather broad and boasts a wide chamber inside its thick, insulating walls which taper to the rim from a mid-set waistline marked by a firm ridge. A sleek saddle stem and lifted shank arc away out back and top off this piece quite nicely, the stummel finished in a warm auburn stain that unveils some handsome grain, while a pair of light wood accents at the stem base lend contrast.
