Italian Estates: Rinaldo Lithos Bent Egg with Silver (SL3) (YYY) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-42017
Ever since they were teenagers, brothers Elio and Guido Rinaldo have been honing their skills as pipe makers, with the two getting their start working for Mastro de Paja in 1974: the brand's bold, Pesaro-style influence still visible in their work today. In 1987, the two brothers would establish the Rinaldo brand, with each pipe being handcrafted by Elio and Guido themselves. This bent Egg from Rinaldo is a striking interpretation, pairing the shape's rotund bowl with the strong arcing posture of the Hawkbill. Standing tall with an upright posture, the bowl here houses a deep chamber that's well-suited to leisurely smoking sessions, housed by sturdy walls curving from the rounded heel toward the chamfered rim. Out back, a muscular, aquiline transitions from the bowl, accented by a silver band as it pairs to a downturned, tapered stem fashioned from swirling, chocolate-hued acrylic. The stummel boasts a wealth of texture for the hand to appreciate, with the surface dressed in a warm, earthy rustication.
