Savinelli's Autograph is the Italian marque's limited-production, handmade series, utilizing specially aged extra-extra plateau briar and being crafted by only three of the brand's most experienced carvers. From start to finish, the process of crafting a single one of these pipes is handled by a single one of these veteran craftsmen, the series providing them with design freedom and allowing them to express their personal creativity. The Artisan subseries denotes pipes that are usually more subtly stylized compared to other Autograph pipes, such is the case with this bent Brandy. The bowl is the center of the visual weight here, with a robust, low-set waist sat atop a rounded heel and softly curving walls that reach toward a flat rim. The bowl cants forward out of a wide transition, one which additionally gives way to a lifting shank that's here paired to a sleekly tapering, stylized stem of black acrylic. Dressed in a warm, rich stain and smooth finish, the stummel showcases handsome grain throughout.
