Italian Estates: Castello Old Antiquari Great Line Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-42126

From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 with the goal of offering handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. As part of Castello's Great Line series, this bent Dublin is rendered with a hulking physique, with its towering bowl measuring nearly three inches in height. The bowl houses a deep chamber, framed by thick, insulating walls that flare from the firm, rounded heel toward the smooth, subtly curved rim. Out back, a muscular shank lifts gently as it tapers from the transition and pairs to a demurely downturned stem, lending the bowl's impressive stature even greater presence within the composition. Dressed in Castello's Old Antiquari finish, this piece displays a warm, earthy sandblast that draws out rippling growth rings across the right flank and birdseye across the left, with the stem's base fashioned with a complementing wood accent.
